Queensland: Rosewood
Incorporating photos and Information from Michael Greenslade's former Australian Towns, Cities and Highways site

Rosewood is a small town which lies between Brisbane and Toowoomba. It is a service centre for the surrounding farming areas. The town has a number of impressive timber buildings including St Brigid's Catholic Church (the largest of its kind in Australia), the unusual Rising Star Hotel and the elegant Edwardian home, Glendalough. 1

The origin of the suburb name is believed to be derived from the Rosewood (Acacia harpophylla) commonly found in the southeast Queensland region at the time of Rosewood's settlement. 2
