Laidley, located just off the Warrego Highway between Ipswich and Gatton, lies in the fertile Lockyer Valley and is known as Queensland's Country Garden. Established in the 1840's around a lagoon and inn where drovers rested their stock, it has since become the centre for an extremely productive vegetable growing industry that dominates the Lockyer Valley. Of interest in the area include the Laidley Pioneer Village which features many of the original buildings from the old township, Narda Lagoon & Flora and Fauna sanctuary, the historical Das Neumann house, and the town's main street which provides a variety of shops.
