Incorporating photos and Information from Michael Greenslade's former Australian Towns, Cities and Highways site

Kalbar is a small town located in an area known as the Scenic Rim around an hour from greater Brisbane. Settlement began at the location in 1876.

Nestled in farmland, Kalbar is surrounded by a number of mountains which form the Great Dividing Range that runs along much of the east coast of Australia. The nearby area features several conservation areas including Main Range National Park and Glen Rock State Forest.

The town is home to a number of heritage buildings, and holds a couple of rural shows annually.
