General Information:
Metropolitan Route 60 is an arterial route linking Melbourne's inner city over the Yarra River, and once helped form a major link through the city, prior to the construction of several freeways, to Sydney (via the coast) and Adelaide.
The route is fully divided, with some sections used by tram traffic, and services mostly commercial precincts.
History:
- 1961: Grade separation of King St and Flinders St in Melbourne, as part of the construction of Kings Way. It was the first major grade-separation bridge project in Victoria. 2
- 2005: Demolition of the Flinders St overpass. It was replaced with traffic lights. 2
