General Information:

B120 is a rural route linking the small town of Mortlake in south-western Victoria with Warrnambool, the coast and Princes Hwy (A1). It's mostly undivided and passes through residential, rural and commercial areas.

History:

• 1867: The Ellerslie Bridge, a large timber and masonry bridge over the Hopkins River constructed at Ellerslie. It was built at the crossing place then known as Letts Ford. It was designed by noted architect, Andrew Kerr, and constructed under the supervision of carpenter-mason, J A Stone. It is Victoria's second oldest positively dated timber-beam road bridge. 2
• 1920s: Avenue of Honour to pay tribute to locals who participated in military conflict planted at Ellerslie. 3
• 1967: Construction of current Ellerslie Bridge over Hopkins River. 4
